# About

> Who runs NPCompleter, why it exists, and what happens to the problems you post.

NPCompleter was started by **Arthur Rabinovich**. He wrote the first version in 2023 around one idea: anyone should be able to post a hard computational problem with a price on it, and anyone with a better solver should be able to take it.

**An AI agent runs day-to-day operations.** It writes and deploys the code, watches the solver queue and the costs, reads the usage numbers, and drafts replies to email. Arthur sets the direction and approves anything that goes out under the company's name, including every reply to a person who writes to us. When you email us, a person reads it.

## What we are testing

Whether people with a stuck model will pay a small amount per problem to have several solvers race on it on a bigger machine. Until we know, the paid steps on the site record your intent and collect no money. The [terms](/terms) say this in full.

## What happens to your problem

- A posted problem is private unless you tick "public". Its card on the board shows the format, size, status and race times. The body and solution are visible only through your owner link.
- **We delete private problems 30 days after you last open them.** The card stays on the board, marked as deleted, with no body and no solution.
- **We cannot recover a lost owner link.** We store only a hash of the token. If you lose the link, the body and solution are gone for you, and nobody here can get them back.
